In a heartbreaking event, an active bald eagle nest in Sherman, Texas, was destroyed. Now, authorities need your help to catch those responsible! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $15,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

📅 Timeline:

• On February 15, 2023, a concerned neighbor reported the nest on private land being developed for a subdivision. A Texas game warden confirmed the nest with two majestic bald eagles perched on top.

• Less than a week later, on February 20, 2023, the nest was found destroyed—cut down along with the tree it was in. 😢🌳

This act is a serious crime! Even though bald eagles were removed from the Endangered Species Act in 2007, they’re still protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
